I'm grateful to announce the completion of my viva presentation, which marks the end of my master's degree journey. The support from my family, friends, and professors has been invaluable. This achievement signifies personal and intellectual growth, and I'm reminded of the quote, "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." I'm stepping into the future with gratitude for the wisdom gained and connections forged during this phase of my academic journey.

Found this pic from 21.5 years ago! At the time I had exactly 0 citations and luckily folks at the University of Cambridge were kind enough to invite me for a seminar. I’m not so sure about the quality of the talk that came after me 🤔, but am very sure that a bit of luck can have massive benefits for one’s career. Thanks to my coauthors, colleagues, and students that helped me along the way, and especially Sofia Johan. Sofia and I met at Cambridge shorty thereafter. #venturecapital #privateequity #finance #ipo #m&a #acquisitions #liquidations #writeoffs #financialcontracts #contractsFlorida Atlantic University - College of Business

Last week, I started a journey that was decades in the making - I can remember as an undergrad taking a class in organizational behavior and even back then, knowing I wanted to get a PhD in it one day. But it never felt like the right time. I would tell myself "not now." But if not now, then when? There never is a right time. There are certainly better or worse times, but at the heart of it, we really need to be asking ourselves a different question. What is our 4th priority? During the first week of school, one of my professors, Prof. Winston asked that question. He said that our top 3 priorities are pretty set year over year: faith, family/friends, work. What determines our success in the program is it truly being our 4th priority. The reality is - I've never had a 4th priority. I've had multiple 4th priorities which really (similar to college rankings where ties drop) is the equivalent of 9th priorities. So as I begin this new chapter I am already beginning to realize 2 important ways I can stick with my priorities:1) saying no2) blocking time to rest, restore, and rechargeWhat is your 4th priority for 2024?

I had the privilege of being a judge at the thrilling 24-Hour Case Competition at McMaster University and I was amazed.Because,↪ Over 700 students showed exceptional skills.↪ 70+ alumni judges and 50+ volunteers united.↪ Everyone was brimming with energy and ideas.↪ The solutions were as diverse as they were brilliant. It made me think:🚨 About the power of information literacy.🚨 About processing massive data under pressure.🚨 About making decisions in shades of grey, not just black and white.🚨 About creativity and quick thinking being key to success. It was all about real-world skills.I understood that:➡ Quick decision-making is crucial in today's world.➡ Not all solutions are clear-cut, and that's okay.➡ Creative thinking is needed more than ever.➡ Success today requires adapting and innovating quickly. If you can adapt to this fast-paced world,Your potential is limitless.Stop seeking black-and-white answers.Embrace the grey.Get creative.---Congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding performance and a big thank you to DeGroote School of Business - McMaster University for organizing this incredible event and allowing me the opportunity to be a part of it. Events like these are not just competitions; they are the breeding grounds for the leaders and innovators of tomorrow.#DeGroote #leadership #McMasterUniversity #casecompetition

"Anxious, Courageous and Ambitious" are three qualities that best describe my experience here at Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyI recently had the pleasure of attending a class taught by Professor Nicholas de Monchaux at MIT, and I couldn't help but feel inspired by his words on the first day of class. He shared with us that every person we meet at MIT, whether they be a professor, staff member, dean or student, is extremely ambitious, anxious and courageous. These three qualities are not mutually exclusive, but rather go hand in hand in defining the spirit of the MIT community. It's true that institution is known for its exceptional academic rigor and groundbreaking research, but what sets it apart is the people who make up this community. Each person brings their own unique talents, perspectives and experiences to the table, and collectively they push the boundaries of what is possible. The community is a testament to the power of these qualities, with each individual striving for excellence in their respective fields while supporting and encouraging their peers. As I reflect on Professor de Monchaux's words, I am reminded that ambition, anxiety and courage are not just traits of the MIT community, but rather universal qualities that we all possess. They are what drive us to pursue our goals, overcome obstacles and achieve our dreams.#firstdayofschool #quoteoftheday #wisdom
